Oh How Time Flies!

It's hard to believe that Jason and I have been married for almost a year! Time has just flown by. I guess that's what happens when you are busy and life is crazy. Here's an update on what we've been up to:

Jason continues to work at Creighton University in the Alumni Relations Office. He seems to really like his job and doesn't mind working with all women. Hockey season has also begun, so he is keeping busy with reffing. Jason is enjoying the cooler weather and is probably counting down the days until he can stop mowing the yard.

I switched gears in August, quitting my job at the newspaper to go back to school full time. I've been working on my Masters part time for the past three years and it was time to buckle down and finish it. I will graduate in May with a Masters in Speech Communication focusing on Instructional Communication. I'm also getting a certificate in Training and Development. Along wiht going to school, I am teaching two classes of Public Speaking each semester this year at UNO. I really love teaching and I've had some pretty great students so far.

Izzy has been keeping busy playing, sleeping and eating. This week we have had a couple of visitors at our house and she seems to really be enjoying them. I've posted some photos so you know what I mean. Sorry for the sideways photo. I don't know how, nor do I have time to fix it. Now, I must get to my homework!

River Time

Jason and I have been awfully busy, as you can tell by the lack of posts. We will try to update this a little more often. In June we took a trip up to Edmonton for a friend's wedding. We had a really nice time, but the trip was way too short. We're (Izzy too) all looking forward to our trip up to the river the weekend to celebrate the 4th of July. Jason's parents coming up too! It will be nice to spend some time with them, enjoying our little piece of paradise called the Missouri River. We hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July!

Decorating Fun

Jason and I have been busy getting the house put together, it's a never ending process. I'm posting some photos of what we have finished so far - new curtains, new paint, new furniture. Enjoy!

This is Jason now. My first blog post! Well, we have gotten back to real life after the wedding like Amanda said. But we have more news as I was offered a job at Creighton University in Omaha.

It is very near our house, they have great benefits and I am told the University Relations department I will be working in has many great people to work with. I am excited and nervous about leaving the newspaper after more than three years, but it should be good. I will miss my co-workers for sure, many of whom are good friends now. Working at Creighton also gives options for reduced tuition, which has opened up the idea to possibly get my masters at the school someday.

Plus, the university nickname is the Blue Jays, so that's good. I've been told I look good in blue as well. Anyway, more on that later. I'll talk to you more in the coming weeks.

The Wedding

Amazing! That's the only way to describe Jason and I's recent wedding and all the family and friends who attended. Thank you again to all of you who made our day as perfect as it could've been. Jason and I have both talked about how great the day was and how we aren't even sad that it is over because it was everything we ever could have imagined!

Now it's back to reality as we both start work again on Monday. The time off was great and the river was fun. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! Now that the wedding is over (our one week anniversary is today), I have already begun new projects I have been itching to get to. My first...painting the dining room. So far I only have a before photo. Hopefully tomorrow I will have an after. I've posted some photos of the Diercks Bentley concert I went to tonight as well as a photo of Izzy (who is runnign around the house at full speed after drinking over half of my Starbucks coffee earlier this evening-as if she wasn't hyper enough already) in her Halloween costume.

We'll keep you posted on all the new and exciting projects and events in our lives!
